Awarded the Lilli Lehmann Medal of the International Mozarteum Foundation and numerous other prizes, Esther’s work today extends beyond the stage into curating, producing and artistic direction. Moving between performance, contemporary music, interdisciplinary projects and music education, these different fields have become closely connected in her work.

In 2020, she co-founded Kulturhaltestelle, a Berlin-based cultural organisation developing and producing music projects, festivals and educational programmes in Germany and internationally. Since 2026, she has been leading the organisation independently as its Managing Artistic Director.
