​Esther’s artistic work moves between performance, contemporary music, curating, producing and music education. What began with a classical career as a singer has over the years expanded into a broader artistic practice, bringing together different musical genres, disciplines and forms of encounter.

Since founding the Weissenhorn Klassik Festival in 2014, curating and developing new artistic formats have become an increasingly important part of her work. In 2020, she co-founded Kulturhaltestelle, a Berlin-based cultural organisation developing and producing music projects, festivals and educational programmes in Germany and internationally. Since 2026, she has been leading the organisation independently as its Managing Artistic Director.

Esther studied voice and music theatre at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, graduating with distinction in 2008. She was awarded the Lilli Lehmann Medal by the International Mozarteum Foundation and received numerous prizes at international competitions, as well as First Prize at the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin.

As a singer, she has appeared on opera and concert stages across Europe and beyond, working with renowned orchestras, conductors and artistic partners. While her musical roots lie in the classical repertoire, her artistic path increasingly led her towards music of the 20th and 21st centuries, contemporary forms of performance and collaborations beyond traditional genre boundaries. Jazz and free improvisation have also become part of this exploration.

This openness continues to shape both her work on stage and her curatorial practice. Rather than treating performance, programming and producing as separate fields, she approaches them as interconnected ways of creating artistic experiences and bringing people, ideas and different perspectives together.

Alongside her artistic and curatorial work, Esther has taught and given masterclasses and workshops in Europe and Asia, including at the China Conservatory of Music in Beijing.
